As we move more into the WYSIWYG world of blogging, the need for html literacy is dwindling. However, there is no such thing as useless information when it can help you out in a pinch. If you want to see real html code at work, check out this entry.
Who here has gotten request from Facebook friends for those time vaccuums known as “social games?” You know the ones I’m talking about, Farmville, Mafia Wars, Superhero City, etc. I’ve often wondered what the appeal of those “games” are. They are not social; you don’t interact with anyone while you play. You have static pictures of your friends in various spots. There’s no diversity; it’s a point and click experience the whole way. Does anyone enjoy these? I know I don’t. I’d much rather pick out baby shower decorations with friends!
Apparently, I’m not the only one who gets in trouble for my tweets. Sarah Palin, of Alaska fame, has been noted for her fondness for sending her message over Twitter. Newsweek compiled some of her greatest hits. The one I find the most intriguing is the one concerning the Gulf oil spill. According to Palin, it’s better to drill in Alaskan wilderness.
Well, if you’re like me and like to get your blog on in a Starbucks or some other coffee shop, a new study claims that four cups of coffee a day reduces the risk of head and neck cancer. You won’t sleep a lot, but then sleep is a little overrated anyway, right?
I was at a baby shower last weekend and i saw these cute baby shower favors that were lollipops, and were personalized for the baby. They were so cute and you can make them look like whatever you want and whatever theme you may have.
I just went to a baby shower over the weekend and wow you wouldn’t believe the super cute baby shower favors that the hostess had for us!I love candles so this was such a treat! The mini travel size candles are great to take along to work or wherever I want to take a great smelling candle to burn!
Did you know that McDonald’s now offers free wifi? They had wifi services for the longest time, but didn’t really advertise the fact that they simply supported a paid wifi service. Well, something changed, and poof, free wifi at McDonald’s! I’m not sure if *all* McDonald’s locations carry free wifi, but the ones around here do, which is all I care about.
Anyway, I’ve been chilling here at this McDonald’s since about 9:00am. A friend and I have been talking about baby shower favors for her upcoming baby shower, and I’ve been spending a lot of this time working. I have another thirty minutes to kill, and then it’ll be time for me to head out and pick up my children from the church next door (well, across the parking lot, but for all intents and purposes it can be next door) that they’re having a weeklong day camp/vacation bible school at. This will be my routine for the week, which is fine by me. Between my laptop and my netbook it’s incredibly easy to work anywhere, and thanks to McDonald’s free wifi, I don’t even have to pull out my own Sprint card.
You would think I would prefer to work from home, but when I’m home I have a lot of distractions to deal with. Even if the kids aren’t there, the urge to do laundry or straighten up often hits, and a lot of time is spent doing that instead of work!
Do you ever get tired of blogging? I know I do. But I have worked hard to gather the audience that has been steadily increasing over the past ten years (yes, you read that right; I have been blogging for a decade), and I’m not going to risk losing them now simply because I’m tired or feeling lazy. So I blog. And blog, and blog, and blog, and then I blog some more.
What’s funny and amazing is that I never run out of things to talk about. I could sit her and babble all day about the numerous types of baby shower games that are available. I could tell you how many nail polishes I own and what my favorite colors and preferred brands are (anything sparkly and SinfulColors, in case you’re interested). Or I could simply do one of the hundreds of memes available at The Daily Meme.
But more than anything I like to talk, so I hope you don’t mind reading.
