Often we tend to hunker down in the Winter and stay indoors, warm and cozy. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good cuddle session on the couch, rolled up in blankets watching movies and sipping hot cocoa? But, have you ever thought about how refreshed you feel with the embrace of a brisk walk?
That is one of my favorite things to do in winter, especially as the season is close to an end and Spring is showing its first visible signs of a return. The birds are out, the leaves are starting to sprout and the ground is brimming with energy.
Walking is one of the best things for you. It gets your heart pumping, and all your senses are engaged. Your mind wanders, your eyes are entertained by the sights around you, your ears perk up at the sounds, whether pleasant or not so pleasant and body is inspired by a little movement.
This is my suggestion, grab a scarf, a pair of mittens, some good warm walking shoes or boots, a hat and head outdoors. Target is great place for inexpensive yet effective scarfs. Your body will thank you in more ways than one.
As Winter draws to an end and Spring comes closer to a reality, it’s time to start thinking about a wardrobe transition. This calls for a deep assessment of your closet, so make sure to set aside a few hours. Pour yourself a glass of your favorite wine, bring a couple healthy snacks into the closet and crank up your favorite tunes, this is going to be a closet party!
I like to sort through my clothes each season. I think about the times I wore certain outfits and wonder if I will wear them again next season or if they were a one season limit. Now, I’ve set out to put away most of my big bulky sweaters, winter hats and shoes and I pack them up in one of the space saver bags to keep them free of dust and bugs.
I like to hang on to my cardigans and light weight sweaters and scarves for cool evenings, but all the rest get packed up and either donated or stored away for next year.
I then unpack all my Spring and Summer favorites from last year and sort through. I make outfits out of all my separates and take pictures of each combination. This is helpful to remember when I’m in less creative moods rushing into the office.
In the spring time thoughts turn to love, as in the Walt Disney Classic, Bambi, the animals become twitterpated. Overcome by romantic feelings.
1. twitterpated- from; http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=twitterpated

1)to be completely enamored with someone/something.
2) the flighty exciting feeling you get when you think about/see the object of your affection.
3) romantically excited (i.e.: aroused)
4) the ever increasing acceleration of heartbeat and body temperature as a result of being engulfed amidst the exhilaration and joy of being/having a romantic entity in someone’s life.
When he smiled at her, the rush of warm, fuzzy, excited sensations that filled her made her realize she was completely twitterpated with this man.
This happens not only in the animal world but among people as well. The Spring season is a time of love and new beginnings. Beautiful flowers are blooming and bouquets are delivered. Meaningful tokens of love are given more often, a custom jewelry designer
may be sought out to personalize a special locket or ring. More weddings happen in the Spring or Summer not coincidentally. Warm season weddings are my most favorite to attend. Pretty dresses and sandals are much more “weddingish” to me than coats and boots. Enjoy any new love entering your life this Spring, sunshine in any form is good for the soul.
If you are ready to spice up your bedroom, there is no time like the present. Whatever your current night chamber looks like, its best to start with a clean slate. First, remove all decor items and set aside in another room where you can assess each item individually and collectively to decide what you’d like to continue to use and what will find a new home elsewhere.
Next, remove your bedding down to the mattress and tidy up your room. Put away all items so that your floor and furniture surfaces are clean.
Once you have determined a color palette, you can start building the room back up. First consider the bedding. Start with colors and create a space of color keeping in mind the sheets, cover, blankets and pillows. You can mix a couple complimentary colors but keep one color as the main color.
Then move on to your window coverings. It’s best to use a white or ivory for the actual window coverings, either blinks, shutters or roman shades and then use your decor color to soften the windows with drapes or valances.
Add slip covers to existing furniture to brighten up your seating area in your room if you have one.
Lastly, add accent pieces and artwork that work with with the colors and patterns in the room.
