Are you proud of how you’ve built up and optimize your WordPress powered blog? Help to show it off — and possibly help other bloggers with their blogs — by creating a page that lists all of the plugins that your blog uses. Now, you could take the time to create this page manually, and then spend even more time by manually updating this list every time you add or remove a plugin…
Or… install Zelig Show Plugin! This awesome plugin will automatically generate a list of plugins for you, and the list will update itself as you add and remove plugins.
(You’re welcome. Teehee.)
If you care about your posts and comments and want to make sure that all of your data is there, or can be restored if needed, then you will want to install one (or more!) of the following WordPress plugins:
Each of these plugins gives you the option of generating full or partial backups, and then having those backups saved to your FTP server (usually in the wp-content/ folder), another FTP server, or even to your email address. Advanced options include scheduling backups and determining if older ones should be removed automatically.
The WordPress developers released WordPress 3.0.5 today. Since this is a security update, you will definitely want to update your installation(s) asap. Since all you have to do is click “update automatically” from within your WP dashboard, what are you waiting for? Get to updating!
I guess if you’re a woman looking for a domain, you may want to look elsewhere. With GoDaddy’s commercials and other marketing focusing on men, it’s a wonder women sign up for domains with them. Ms. Magazine, just recently published an article slamming Toy Story 3 for being sexist. I think they need to target GoDaddy.
If you’re going to blog, you’re going to need a place to keep that blog. It’s true that you can set up a free blog with LiveJournal or WordPress, but having your own domain gives you 100% control over every last aspect of your blog. Plus, there are no ads, and you can troubleshoot any problems that arise, rather than having to wait for a third party company to take care of things for you.
I’m a fan of GoDaddy for domains, simply because registration and management of domains is simple, and there are plenty of coupon codes available! There are always huge lists of coupon codes that are changing, but here are some tried & true codes that should be good for the rest of the year:
