Up for grabs are my recommendations of 3 awesome plugins for WordPress:
Use Fluency Admin to create a collapsed-at-all-times sidebar that provides icons (on or off – your choice) for sub-navigation, as well as your choice of background color. I really like Fluency because it cleans up the look of the WordPress dashboard.
If you want to set up a basic progress bar to show your weight loss, debt paid off, money saved up, etc., then you’ll want to use Progress Bar. It’s quick to install and configure, and requires only one short line of PHP code to get it displayed on your blog’s sidebar.
The ultimate Twitter <--> WordPress plugin, in my opinion, Twitter Tools makes it easy for you to send new post notifications to Twitter, and display your recent tweets in your blog’s sidebar. Choose from the hard-coded method or widgets.
Are you proud of how you’ve built up and optimize your WordPress powered blog? Help to show it off — and possibly help other bloggers with their blogs — by creating a page that lists all of the plugins that your blog uses. Now, you could take the time to create this page manually, and then spend even more time by manually updating this list every time you add or remove a plugin…
Or… install Zelig Show Plugin! This awesome plugin will automatically generate a list of plugins for you, and the list will update itself as you add and remove plugins.
(You’re welcome. Teehee.)
If you care about your posts and comments and want to make sure that all of your data is there, or can be restored if needed, then you will want to install one (or more!) of the following WordPress plugins:
Each of these plugins gives you the option of generating full or partial backups, and then having those backups saved to your FTP server (usually in the wp-content/ folder), another FTP server, or even to your email address. Advanced options include scheduling backups and determining if older ones should be removed automatically.
